“Windows of Heaven” is a vision inspired by the message of the Prophet Isaiah of a God blessed time to come:  “…and I will make thy windows of agates…” (Isaiah 54:12 as rendered by the King James Bible of 1611). Many recent translations of the ancient Hebrew text render that phrase differently; as picturing light reflecting off of towers of sparkling gems. I suspect the spiritual experiences of light streaming through stained glass windows set high in the walls of magnificent old cathedrals was much in the mind of the King James translators. That would not have been the experience of Isaiah more than two and a half millenia ago, however. But for all agate lovers, what a delight that would be! And something I am trying in my own small way to present.
